Graphic Novel Builder Out Thursday!

A coloured illustration shows a series of different creatures in procession - a t-rex, robot, alien blob, cartoon mouse, worm and superhero. Between them walks Jay, a teenage boy with brown skin, curly black hair and a green puff jacket. He says: Characters are the heart of a good story, and an awesome cast of characters is crucial to telling a tale that will grab people’s attention.

Almost there!

On Thursday, my new book Graphic Novel Builder: the illustrated guide to making your own comics will be out! It’s a book I’m really proud of - fun, bright, playful, and full of character. It was such a pleasure to work on, and I hope that people are enthralled and inspired when they get to read it.

There’s still a bit of time left to preorder a copy before it comes out - either from my pals at Portobello Bookshop or anywhere else! Remember, pre-orders help to elevate the profile of a book when it finally comes out! It’s a drum I’ve been banging all month, and I hope that people are taking the hint :)

Illustrated cartoon image of a procession of teenagers as they head off to a comic convention. Big rugby lad Sam carries a table-cloth, and he’s wrapped in bunting. Finn walks with a stick and wheels a suitcase beside themself. Rayah wears a hijab and jean jacket, and pulls a laden cart behind herself. Punk kid Ash carries a pile of books in her arms. Jay, in green puff jacket carries a small stack of boxes.
